Zakynthos is an island that keeps the tradition, celebrating all major religious festivals. Easter is celebrated in the traditional Heptanesian way including the transfer of Christ, the fracture of the jars and more. On 24 August and 17 December the litany of Agios Dionysios takes place, together with art exhibitions. On Volimes the festival of Agia Paraskevi (26 July) and of St. Demetrius (26 October) take place , and at Keri, the feast of the Virgin of Keriotissas (second day of Easter) takes place , while cultural events are organised (theater, music and dance extensions, reports etc), by the municipality, in Tragaki and Volimes.
